Can This Be Done by Phone?





Many times, we can gather stories and information in a series of recorded phone interviews with you rather than in-person interviews. This speeds up the entire process of writing and producing your books, and also means a lower price for you.



What Types of Books are Included – and How Many are Included?





Choose from several types and sizes of hardcover or paperback. We produce books in any quantity, from one to dozens, hundreds or thousands. Each of our packages – Life Story Digests and Biography Collections – includes a specified quantity of books, but we can customize your order based on the number of books you want.



What About Family Photos and/or Business Photos?





In the books we write and produce, we usually include 12 to 36 photos – and sometimes 48 or more. The photos are usually color and black and white. We also can include other types of images.



What is the Price to Have Legacies & Memories Write a Life Story and Produce Books?





We have Life Story Digests and Biography Collections in virtually all price ranges that will fit most budgets, and with a small down payment at the start.


Each Digest or Collection is all-inclusive, meaning all of our services and a specified quantity of books delivered to your home or office – all for one price. Call us for details and exact prices for the various Digests and Collections.


Normally, only 10 percent of the total investment is required at the start of work. The remainder is paid in deposits during the time we are writing and producing your books. The final deposit is due after you have received your books.



Is There a Difference in Price Based on Page Count?





Yes. The more manuscript pages to be written, the greater the investment. The number of manuscript pages to be written is specified for each Life Story Digest and each Biography Collection. So, based on your selection, you will know the number of pages to be written and the exact total investment before work begins.



How Many Pages Should Be Written?





We can write a life story in virtually any length. It depends on the story to be told and the level of detail desired. We have written life stories in 20 to 30 manuscript pages, in 50 to 85 manuscript pages (our most popular range), and in more than 150 pages.


After we add photos and the front matter (title page, copyright page, etc.) and perhaps back matter such as an index and appendices, the number of pages in the book will be more than the number of manuscript pages.

  • While it may be your life story we write, it is usually done for family. This is an important and long-lasting gift – a thoughtful gesture that will be cherished for generations. We are confident, however, that you will enjoy reminiscing and reflecting on your life.

  • Having your story written for the benefit of family is akin to you or family members taking numerous photos and preserving those for many years. Most people don’t consider having family photos as bragging about themselves. Rather, it is one way to preserve memories.
  • Consider the millions of people who spend time and money researching their family’s genealogy. This is not perceived as bragging. People want to know more about family members who came before them. Many researchers may find only scant records. But most also would like to have stories and details about the lives of those family members.
